Well, the best affiliate marketers follow a system and repeat this time and time again creating for them-selves "multiple streams of income". This phrase has been around for sometime now and is were the savvy marketer creates many incomes from different affiliate programs, so that if one isn't doing so well he still has the others producing well. In the business world this is known as the "famine effect". If you were to ask the most successful marketer, you'll discover they all have multiple stream of income from different affiliate niches. As with any business you need to evaluate and assess your capabilities by assessing yourself. Take a notepad & pen, and then jot down the answers to the following questions. -What talents, abilities & strengths do you have? -Do you have any creative skills i.e. writing or sales skills? -Are you a good communicator? -Do you naturally have an ability that others do not? Now looking back on these notes you will be able to determine what kind of affiliate business best suits you. You see, it's always best to start out with something you know or are good at because it will be easier to put in place. Lets say you've good writing skills, then you might want to promote affiliate products related to this. Therefore it would be easier for you to "lets say" write articles on the topic for promotion purposes. But if you were choosing something else like software and didn't know about the topic, it would be harder for you but not impossible for you to get started. Basically that's the initial step you need to do if you want to create multiple income streams. However, if you're already have a website or blog, you definitely have an edge over everyone else. You could join affiliate program related to your website topic to help you gain an extra income. Make sure you don't make the mistake of signing up for numerous affiliate programs in the hope that one of them will bring income. Select wisely and don't be engaged in selling products you know nothing about. Make sure its something you know about which drives your enthusiasm; as your passion can capture your prospects by the nose and guide him/her to your affiliate link.
